Leases and e-sign

Create a lease and send it for e-signature

Create a contract for a tenant from a template or your own PDF, then email the signing link, sign at the counter or save it as a draft.

6 stepsUpdated

Steps

  1. Step 1: Open Contracts and click New contract. (The Contracts section of a tenant's page has New Contract too.)

  2. Step 2: Enter the Contract Title and Contract Type, pick the Tenant, and choose a Template (Optional) or Choose PDF File to use your own lease.

  3. Step 3: Fill in the Signer Name, Email and Phone.

  4. Step 4: Click Create Contract. The first time, click I Agree & Enable to switch e-signing on.

  5. Step 5: In the Contract created box choose Send for signature to email the signing link, Get signing link to copy it into your own text or email, Sign in person to sign at the counter, or Save as draft.

  6. Step 6: A sent contract has Resend Contract and Sign on its page and in its row menu. A draft has Sign in person and Send.

Good to know

  • E-signing is built in; there is no DocuSign account to set up.
  • The tenant gets the signed copy by email. They cannot see leases in the tenant portal.
  • If a signing link no longer works, Resend Contract sends a fresh one.
