Turn off a tenant's gate code

Disable a tenant's gate access from their page, mark the unit as locked out, and know what the app does and does not do with your gate.

3 stepsUpdated

Steps

  1. Step 1: Open the tenant's page and find Gate Access. When the tenant has a code it shows the code and whether it is Enabled or Disabled.

  2. Step 2: Click Disable Access. Click Enable Access later to turn it back on.

  3. Step 3: To mark the unit as well, open the unit's page and choose Set Lockout from its menu (it shows when the tenant owes a balance). Remove Lockout clears it.

Good to know

  • Set Lockout only changes the unit's status. It does not turn off the gate code, so do both.
  • The app keeps codes on file but does not talk to your gate. Make the same change in your gate controller.
  • Codes switch off on their own at move-out, not for late payment. Access Codes in the sidebar lists every code per facility, with Create Access Code.

If a step does not match what you see, email support@storagefacilitycreator.com with the facility name and what you clicked, or use Report a Bug at the bottom of the app sidebar. Inside the app, AI Assistant answers the same questions in your own words.
