Getting started

Import your tenant list from a spreadsheet

Bring your tenants in from a CSV file with a sample to copy, column matching and duplicate checks, then set their paid-through dates in one go.

5 stepsUpdated

Before you start

  • Pick one facility in the Tenants filter first. Under All Facilities the import button is hidden.

Steps

  1. Step 1: Open Tenants & Units > Tenants and pick the facility.

  2. Step 2: Click Import CSV. Download Sample gives you a file with the right columns; paste your list into it and save it as CSV.

  3. Step 3: Choose your file. The import matches your columns to the app's fields and flags tenants that look like duplicates.

  4. Step 4: Check the preview and finish the import.

  5. Step 5: Now set everyone's paid-through date: click Select Multiple, tick the imported tenants and click Paid through (n). Pick the month they are paid through, so late status and reminders start from the right date.

Good to know

  • To bring in a tenant's past rent and payments with their real dates, open the tenant, click View Ledger and use Enter past history.
  • Units have to exist before you can put tenants in them, so add your units first.

If a step does not match what you see, email support@storagefacilitycreator.com with the facility name and what you clicked, or use Report a Bug at the bottom of the app sidebar. Inside the app, AI Assistant answers the same questions in your own words.
