Rent and payments

Send a tenant an invoice

Turn unpaid ledger charges into a formal invoice, email it or print it as a PDF, then mark it paid or void it. Rent lateness is tracked without invoices.

4 stepsUpdated

Steps

  1. Step 1: Open the tenant's page, click View Ledger, then Generate Invoice. The app lists the unpaid charges it will put on it; confirm.

  2. Step 2: The invoice is saved as a draft. Find it under Rent & payments > Invoices (filter by Draft, Sent, Paid, Overdue or Voided) and open it.

  3. Step 3: Click Send to tenant to email it, or Print / Save as PDF. Edit details changes the invoice number, due date and notes; Attach PDF copy stores the PDF with it.

  4. Step 4: When they pay, record the payment first (Record payment), then click Mark as Paid on the invoice. Void Invoice cancels one with a reason.

Good to know

  • Invoices are optional. Late status, reminders and overlocks go by paid-through dates, not invoices.
  • The Invoices tab has Sync invoices if a status looks stale.
