Texting and email

Text or email one tenant

Send a text or email to a tenant from Messaging, use the quick messages, and record a tenant's texting consent so texts can go out.

4 stepsUpdated

Steps

  1. Step 1: Open Messaging. The tabs are Employee Chat, Bulk Messaging, Email, SMS and Message History (shorter names on a phone: Chat, Bulk, History).

  2. Step 2: Open SMS, pick the tenant and write the message, or tap a chip under Quick messages such as Past due, or Rent & portal, which inserts the rent and portal links.

  3. Step 3: Click Send SMS. For email, open the Email tab, pick the tenant, write it and send.

  4. Step 4: Replies show up in Message History.

Good to know

  • Texts go only to tenants who have agreed to them, from the shared toll-free number. STOP and HELP replies are handled for you.
  • To record consent a tenant gave you on paper or at the counter: Tenants & Units > Tenants > Select Multiple > tick them > SMS consent (n) > Record SMS consent.
  • Employee Chat is for your own team, not tenants.
