Storable Edge alternative for small facilities: SFC vs Storable Edge

Storable Edge facts checked on its own website on Updated

Storable Edge, formerly storEDGE, is Storable's all-in-one self-storage software, sold to everyone from small businesses to large portfolios and fully unmanned facilities. Storage Facility Creator (SFC) is built for independent operators with one facility or a handful. Both are billed monthly with no long-term contract. Storable does not publish Edge's price; SFC publishes $75 per facility per month.

What about SiteLink?

SiteLink is Storable's longer-running product, which Storable says has been trusted since 1996 and describes as its more configurable option, for one facility or many. On storable.com it is billed monthly with a monthly commitment, you can cancel at any time, and no price is shown; Storable offers a free demo. It runs as SiteLink Web Edition on Windows 10 and 11, with the browser-based SiteLink myHub on a tablet, phone, PC or Mac.

SiteLink's own site, sitelink.com, which it says is moving to storable.com, adds that users go month to month, that a nominal one-time fee and a monthly subscription apply to each license, that users are unlimited ("as many users as you want"), that operators can take online payments and reservations from their own website at no extra charge, and that card and ACH payments run through SiteLink Merchant Services or a third-party processor.

Compared with SFC: SiteLink suits an operator who wants deep configuration, a Windows client, ACH or vendor integrations, and is willing to start with a demo. SFC suits one who wants a published $75 per facility price, a browser app with nothing to install, and to start on their own.

Where Storable Edge is the better fit

Edge is built to grow with a portfolio. Pick it, or ask for its quote, if you need:

  • Unmanned facilities, with online move-ins, access control and collections running without staff.
  • Corporate tools that change settings across every facility in a portfolio at once.
  • Gate access control, insurance and websites from one vendor, each as its own Storable product.
  • Kiosk payments, or a mobile app option. SFC has neither: it runs in the browser.
  • Call handling: Contact Connect, an optional add-on to Storable CRM, routes incoming calls and lets customers pay by phone.

Where SFC is the better fit

SFC is worth a trial if these matter more:

  • A price you can see before you talk to anyone: $75 per facility per month, with every user included.
  • Starting on your own: sign up without a sales call, and your 30-day trial starts once your account is approved.
  • Online rentals, e-signed leases, a tenant portal and opt-in texting in one app, without buying separate products.
  • Boat slips, RV sites and parking spaces as built-in types next to your storage units.

Where SFC falls short

Said plainly, so you do not find out during a trial:

  • Large multi-site operators that need revenue management tools or a call center.
  • Facilities that need software to program gate keypads or kiosks directly: SFC stores codes only.
  • Operators who need ACH or bank-draft payments: SFC takes cards only.
  • Anyone who needs phone support or a native mobile app.
  • Facilities that want the software to prepare lien notices or run auctions.
  • Operators who want a tenant protection plan sold through their software vendor.

Questions operators ask

Is Storable Edge the same as storEDGE?

Yes. Storable's Edge product page gives storEDGE as its former name. It is Storable's all-in-one product, sold alongside SiteLink and Storable Easy.

How much does Storable Edge cost compared with SFC?

Storable does not publish Edge's price; you request a demo. SFC publishes $75 per facility per month, plus $25 for online rentals. Ask Storable for a written quote that includes Websites, Access and any other product you need.

Does Storable Edge need a contract?

Storable says Edge is billed monthly, needs only a monthly commitment, and can be cancelled at any time. SiteLink is the same on storable.com. SFC is also month to month, cancelled inside the app.

Which is better for unmanned facilities?

Storable Edge, if unmanned means the gate opens on its own. Storable says more unmanned operations use Edge than any other vendor's software, with its Access product. SFC runs online rentals and autopay without staff, but you enter gate codes in your controller.

Can I move from storEDGE or SiteLink to SFC?

Yes. Get your tenant list as a spreadsheet and import it with SFC's CSV import, then enter past rent and payments with their real dates. Tenants re-enter saved cards once, because cards do not move between payment processors.
