Bill tenants on their move-in day

Make each new tenant's rent due on the day of the month they moved in, with a full first month and no prorating, instead of on the 1st.

4 stepsUpdated

Before you start

  • The facility owner.

Steps

  1. Step 1: Open Facilities, then the facility's menu > Edit.

  2. Step 2: Under Rent due, click On each tenant's move-in day.

  3. Step 3: Read the box that opens, then click Bill on move-in days.

  4. Step 4: Click Update Facility.

Good to know

  • Tenants who already rent keep paying on the 1st. Nothing on their ledgers changes.
  • A tenant who moves in after you save pays a full first month from their move-in day (Oct 15 to Nov 14), then rent is due on that day each month. Due on the 29th, 30th or 31st, it falls on the last day of a shorter month.
  • Autopay charges them on that day, reminders go out before it, and they count as late once that day plus your grace period has passed.
  • Switching back to On the 1st of each month is the same steps. Tenants already billed on their move-in day keep their day.
  • To put a tenant you are bringing over from paper or old software on their anniversary, add them, then use Enter past history on their ledger with their move-in date before the next 1st. It gives them their move-in day when their ledger has no rent on it yet.
